While I’m waiting for trick or treaters to arrive, I figured this was the perfect time to post about some of the sweet treats we made this weekend. There have been some major storms over the past few days, so this seemed like the perfect time to do some holiday baking.
We set up the candy eyeballs Thursday night and spent about 7 hours Friday making the treats (clockwise: Spider Cookies, Monster Cookies, Candy Eyeballs, Zombie Brains and Candy Corn Pretzel Treats). The easiest by far were the candy corn treats although the spider cookies win hands down for cuteness. We adjusted the Spider Cookies to use whoppers rather than truffles, however all the other recipes remained the same.
On a side note, I’d like to give a shoutout to the neighbor who has this awesome decoration in their yard. The first time I saw this guy, I was walking at dusk and noticed a huge figure to my side. I would love to get one, but my husband said no because he would take up too much space. I don’t know…I think we could put a santa hat on him during the winter, leave him outside as a grill buddy during the summer…okay maybe not. Happy Halloween!
